Annual Studio Sale...gone Virtual...

Usually, every year around the holidays I will have an Open Studio/Studio sale. But this year, time has gotten away from me and I've decided in lieu of skipping it altogether, I would just hold a virtual Open Studio and everyone is invited. No need to dress fancy, slippers, sweatpants and your computer are all you need.

So first let me give you a fast tour of my studio...quickly now...watch your step...let's go...

Ok, now on to some holiday refreshments...please, help yourself, but no crumbs on my studio floor.

And now for some artwork I need to clear out so I have room to fill my studio with new paintings in 2009. Links under paintings will take you to my Etsy storefront.

'coming or going' 4x4 inch, oil on gallery wrapped canvas, $30

'bluer than blue' 8x10 inch, oil on canvas panel, $45

'blemished' 6x6 inch, oil on canvas panel, $45

'unlovely' 18x24 oil on gallery wrapped canvas, $200, please contact me if you are interested in this painting, I will need to quote shipping based on your address.

Thank you for coming, I wish you all a Wonderfully Relaxing and Happy Holiday Season. It's been a fun year in bloggerworld, I look forward to another year of good friends, new friends, and exciting posts from everyone.

Good idea, thanks for the snacks. You really know how to throw a party.
Is that a piece of studio floor I see? Not as messy as mine then.
Happy Holidays.
Is there anything to drink?

you're welcome frank, i try to throw a good party every once in a while. drinks were right at the beginning of the buffet...fancy little drink i like to call Liquor.

ok you caught me, i used a photo from when i cleaned my studio 3 months ago...i might have you beat right now. i had to step in and out of two boxes to get across the floor today!! LOL

OK, I see it now. My eye was on those Santa cookies and I must have walked right past it.
I mean, I was looking at the art.

LOL, Too funny, yup, right you are. Snowmen for sure. It's just that it has been so long since I have seen snow I guess.

Must have been all those virtual drinks.

Wonderful paintings here! I especially love the poinsettia, even though I'm not particularly fond of them in person, but I do love the painting. It's just so gorgeous!

Christine Mercer-Vernon said...

thank you theresa. i myself am not the biggest fan of poinsettia's either. they only look good for a short period of time, and I always forget to water them. but it was a fun little daily painting to do.

sorry I'm late to the party, nice show! and Idea. well I'm gonna go mingle, have some cookies and find out where Frank is hideing the beer. :)....Have great Holidays Christine!

LOL...no worries Dan, it's a casual affair. Hmmm frank is around here somewhere...considering he stumbled in the door he shouldn't be too hard to find...

btw, great brushwork i your new paintings, i love how loose they are, been crazy around here and haven't had much time for commenting, the one out your window after the ice melted is especially nice.

Hi Elizabeth! Thank you for coming, glad you could stop by, take a few cookies for the road. Happy holidays to you to!

Thank you Deborah, hope you are mingling and having a great time! The Carrot painting and rooted pair are my two favorites from this summer.

OH my dan, maybe it is better if you and frank WALK home, I'd call you a cab but it would cost a fortune from way out here in the woods. now that you guys are liquored up, maybe i'll have you do a painting demo. LOL

It was a lot of fun Amy, I rarely get to openings myself. it's hard with a 2 year old and limited sitters. i love iris's, i'm already excited for spring so I can paint them again!! ...and oh yes, plenty of cookies, apparently dan and frank are eating santa and reindeer cookies (which i didn't make), so that concerns me, i'm not sure what they are eating, not my decorations i hope! LOL

THANK YOU for coming everyone feel free to stay as long as you like! I'm so swamped right now but excited to post about my new painting project, I need about a week though before I'll be ready. If I don't get to comment around the block this week, have a great holiday!!

Wow, now why didn't I think of a virtual open studio party? Just thinking of the easy clean-up makes me smile! Merry Christmas, Christine and lots of sales..out with the old, in with the new!

Christine Mercer-Vernon said...

Hey back at you Ambera! thank you for stopping in! yeah my work has been going through some changes, spent the summer experimenting and I'm looking forward to getting back to some bigger works this winter. your intaglio prints are beautiful, i love the stingray. Hope your holiday is wonderful too! I'm sure it's snowy up there!!

it was so much fun Jennifer, and you are right the clean up was a breeze, food never ran out, although I think Frank and Dan drank all the beer. Out with the old and in with then new, I like that, that's my motto going into 2009, and brand new body of work!! Have a really great holiday!!
